Decent Magazine - From the editor’s note

“What would it look like if women made a men’s magazine? It all started with a half-serious, semi-rhetorical question. Quickly, this imagination game became something more. It transformed into a project about culture change, mental health and the importance of breaking the taboo of men openly discussing their emotions and vulnerabilities. It became about the lack of counselling amongst Black communities, the future of the once-hyper-masculine culture of hip hop, the changing shapes of men’s fashion, the importance of nightlife for queer communities , and the outsider/insider experience of a transmasculine boxer. It evolved into an exploration of role models and a glimpse into the power of art to help redefine gender(s). Ultimately, it became DECENT. A magazine about the state of masculinity in 2020 and beyond…”
